Griefshare

Griefshare

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.

This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before.

“Going to GriefShare feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering.”

GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. For more information contact the church office at church@lafayettealliance.org.

Pastor Rob Gates

Senior Pastor

rfgates@lafayettealliance.org

Rob has served as the Senior Pastor of the LaFayette Alliance Church since 2003.  His passion is to help people understand the Bible and to apply it to their daily lives.  Rob is convinced that “the ministry of the Word is the main weapon in the spiritual arsenal, the only seed for church planting, the primary tool for church building, and the principal strategy in God’s plan to disciple the nations.  No preaching, no church.  No proclamation, no church growth.  Preaching is the heart, the blood, the whole circulatory system of church life and church growth.” (David Eby)

Prior to coming to LaFayette, Rob served churches in Kansas, Indiana, and New York.  Some significant spiritual influences in Rob’s life have been the writings of such men as John MacArthur, John Piper, D.A. Carson, Wayne Grudem, R.C. Sproul, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, as well as such historical writers as the Puritans, John Calvin, Martin Luther, Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, and too many others to list!

Rob and his wife, Jody, have been married since 1985 and are the parents of four adult children and have seven grandchildren.

Nancy is forever a south Jersey girl, living in Central New York for 36 years.

She and her husband, David, have been married since 1985, and they enjoy hiking waterfalls together. Nancy also loves to spend her evenings crocheting.

After teaching math at OCC for more than 17 years, she feels very blessed to work for and serve her church family at LaFayette Alliance.

Nancy has several favorite Bible verses, but one that gives her great peace is Psalm 119:160,  "The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."
